Father’s Day is coming soon. Since we all have dads, that means that a Father’s Day card might be in order. Our new Adventurous Sky bundle and the Take to the Sky Designer Series paper offer us some nice opportunities to experiment with a card for dad. Today we’re making a Father’s Day card, but with a small change in sentiments, it could be used for any masculine occasion such as birthday or just friendship.

Preparing the pieces

I stamped a small and a medium sized airplane with Memento ink, then colored each one with Stampin’ Blends – one in Boho Blue and the other in Mossy Meadow

Using the Mini Stamp & Emboss machine, I die cut these two planes and also die cut 2 large and two small clouds. Using blending brushes, I added some shading to the clouds. I stamped the sentiment for the front of the card on one of the larger clouds.

Putting it all together

I started with a card base of Boho Blue card stock, added a layer of Mossy Meadow card stock and then layered my chosen Designer Series Paper on that, leaving a small border showing of each of the underlying card stock colors.

Choosing the placement carefully, I adhered two clouds directly to the card front and adhered the other two using dimensionals. I adhered the airplanes with dimensionals.

Inside, I backed a Basic White card stock layer with Mossy Meadow card stock and stamped the Father’s Day greeting with Mossy Meadow ink. While the color combination here is a bit unusual, it works well as the planes and clouds tie the colors together.
